The Essex Region Bike Tour Is Back! Ride Together in a Celebration of Cycling

Essex Region – Cyclists of all ages and abilities are invited to experience the Essex Region by bike this fall as the Essex Region Bike Tour returns with scenic road routes, peaceful Greenway trails and a lakefront celebration in support of local trail infrastructure.
“We are thrilled that this year’s 60- and 100-kilometre routes will take riders along picturesque county roads through Essex, Amherstburg, Harrow and Kingsville, while Greenway cyclists can enjoy safe, off-road routes on the Chrysler Canada and Cypher Systems Group Greenways,” says Danielle Breault Stuebing, Director of Communications. The routes were developed with the guidance and expertise of Tom and Sue Omstead of Share the Road to offer an enjoyable, comfortable and safe experience for participants.
“This event continues to appeal to cyclists of all ages and abilities because it offers a welcoming way to explore the region, connect with other riders and support the trails that make our communities healthier and more active,” says David Robins, Chair of the Essex Region Conservation Foundation.
This year’s Bike Tour will be held on Saturday, September 26. Riders can choose from five routes suited to a range of skill levels: 60 km or 100 km road routes, or 15 km, 32 km or 60 km Greenway trail experiences. Funds raised will support local trail infrastructure projects.
“We welcome individuals, teams and families looking for a fun, active way to explore the region’s trails and road routes,” adds Robins. After the ride, participants can enjoy a lakefront lunch and connect with local bike shops and cycling groups as part of the celebration.
