About the event
World Rivers Day will take place on September 27 2025. Offerings include free boat rides to and from Lakeview Marina/Peche Island, sponsored by the Detroit River Canadian Cleanup.
Tours begin each day at 10:00 a.m., and the last ride to the island takes place at 1:15 p.m, with a strict 2:30pm return time. Anyone interested can reserve a spot by calling (519) 255-1161. Pets and larger personal items such as bikes are not permitted due to safety and capacity concerns. Guests are asked to arrive 10 minutes early to sign a waiver, review two safety videos, and be fitted for a personal flotation device (PFD), which is required to be worn on the boat. Visitors are encourage to reserve a spot. Walk-ons will be permitted on a first-come first-serve basis but cannot be guaranteed.
