About the event
Join the Essex Region Conservation Authority and Detroit River watershed partners for an environmental tour of Sandwich, Windsor on Wednesday August 27, 2025, from 4:30pm to 8pm! Learn about environmental, cultural, and natural heritage projects that have been implemented through the Detroit River Remedial Action Plan to restore the Detroit River. Attendees will also learn about environmental community benefit projects implemented in Sandwich that have been funded through the Gordie Howe International Bridge Community Benefits Plan.
Guests will visit tour spots to hear from partners engaged in these environmental projects and programs. Guests should dress comfortably and bring a reusable water bottle. While the tour is primarily on a shuttle with seating, there is a walking portion (approximately 1km) and there are opportunities to exit the shuttle and walk around at different spots.
