About the event

 First Taste of Spring - Maple Syrup Program


During this two hour hands-on program, students will:

  • See the tapped maple trees and the sap collection process.  

  • Get hands-on with Early Settler maple tools (brace & bit drill, and yokes & pails)  

  • Visit the evaporation station to learn about the traditions and celebrations that surrounded early maple making  

  • Gather inside the 1842 Park Family home and enjoy a sweet taste of pure maple sugar while learning about the final steps of maple making, including the states of maple (sap, syrup, butter, sugar).
